AI Disclosure
Last updated October 14, 2026
SHE is an artificial intelligence (AI), not a human. This page explains where AI is used on SHE THRIVES, what SHE can and can't do, and the safeguards we build in.
Where AI is used
- The SHE avatar (shown on the phone in our opening film) is an AI talking avatar. Its face, voice and words are generated by AI.
- The images and films on this site, including the woman at every age, the season films and the closing crowd, are AI-generated illustrations, not photographs of real people.
How SHE will work
When SHE launches, you will talk with an AI avatar that uses a large language model to respond. SHE is designed to help you reflect on your strengths, starting from your Thriving Quotient results if you choose to share them, and to suggest next steps. You decide what to share. SHE can make mistakes; please check important information and use your own judgment.
Our commitments
- Clear disclosure. SHE tells you it is an AI at the start of every conversation and reminds you during long conversations (at least every three hours). SHE will never claim to be a person.
- Not therapy or medical care. SHE is not a therapist, counselor, doctor or crisis service, and does not diagnose or treat any condition.
- Crisis safeguards. If you mention suicide, self-harm or harming someone else, SHE will pause the conversation and point you to immediate help, including the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
- Adults only. SHE THRIVES is for people 18 and older, and SHE does not engage in sexual content.
- Honest claims. We describe what SHE can do truthfully and don't overstate results.
- Your data. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect. Before SHE launches, we will explain conversation data inside the product before you begin.
- A human to talk to. You can always reach our team through our contact form.
The laws we design for
We design SHE to meet the AI-disclosure and AI-companion safety laws in the places where it is available, including:
- California: the companion chatbot law (SB 243, in effect January 1, 2026), requiring clear AI disclosure and crisis-referral protocols; and the bot disclosure law (Business and Professions Code §17940).
- New York: the AI companion law (General Business Law, Article 47, in effect November 5, 2025), requiring notice at the start of a conversation and at least every three hours, and protocols for suicidal ideation and self-harm.
- Maine: the law requiring disclosure when consumers interact with an AI chatbot in trade (in effect September 2025).
- Utah: the Artificial Intelligence Policy Act's disclosure rules and the mental-health chatbot law (HB 452).
- Illinois and other states that restrict AI from providing therapy or presenting itself as a licensed professional.
- New state laws as they take effect, including Connecticut's AI companion safeguards (phasing in from October 1, 2026) and laws scheduled for 2027 in states such as Colorado, Oregon, Rhode Island and Washington.
- Outside the U.S.: transparency duties for AI systems that interact with people, such as those in the EU Artificial Intelligence Act.
Laws in this area change quickly. We review this page as they do, and we update the date below.
